Job Description
Job Title: Lead Power Electronics Architect (Megawatt-Scale EV Solutions) Location: Remote (Europe Preferred) with ~50-60 days annual travel to India. Client: A Premier Energy Organization (India Market Leader). The Opportunity This is not just an engineering role; it is a strategic leadership position defining the future of heavy-duty electric vehicle infrastructure. We are partnering with one of India's foremost energy organizations to find a visionary Power Electronics Expert. You will lead the end-to-end architecture, productization, and global certification of next-generation Medium-Voltage (MV) Megawatt-Scale Containerized Charging Solutions. If you have successfully taken high-power converter systems from the prototype lab to the global industrial market, this is your opportunity to apply that expertise on a massive scale with flexible, global working arrangements. Mission & Core Objectives •Innovate: Architect containerized MW-scale power conversion systems that set new industry benchmarks for reliability and efficiency. •Productize: Bridge the gap between R&D and industrial reality, taking prototypes through rigorous validation to create fully certified, commercially viable products. •Certify: Drive the engineering roadmap to ensure full compliance with international standards (IEC, CE, UL) and grid codes. Key Responsibilities 1. System Architecture & Engineering Leadership •Lead the complete lifecycle design of containerized EV charging solutions, focusing on Medium-Voltage AC-based systems. • Oversee the selection of power electronics components, conducting robust reliability analysis, derating evaluations, and justification reports. • Design advanced thermal management and cooling systems for large-scale, air-cooled platforms. 2. Grid Integration & Protection •Design and validate critical grid interfaces, including MV/LV protection schemes, HVIL, and safety systems. •Ensure absolute compliance with grid codes, fault-response behaviors, and protection logic under all operational conditions. 3. Productization & Compliance •Lead the transition from validated prototype to industrial-grade product. •Manage FMEA/FMECA, HAZOP, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) documentation. • Deliver on-time completion of mandated type tests and secure certifications for global deployment. 4. Strategic Leadership •Mentor and build the capabilities of a multi-disciplinary technical team. •Adapt designs for country-specific requirements and lead technical interactions with international partners. The Ideal Candidate Profile Professional Background: •Leadership Experience: Previous tenure as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Head of Engineering within a global or mid-sized power electronics organization. •Education: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related discipline. Technical Expertise: •MW-Scale Mastery: Proven hands-on expertise with high-power converters and platforms (250 kW to Multi-MW). •Medium Voltage: Deep knowledge of MV protection relays, arc-flash analysis, and DC arc-fault detection. •Integration: Strong command of AC/DC and DC/DC converter integration, control strategies, and EMI/EMC techniques. •Regulatory Knowledge: Extensive exposure to international compliance frameworks (IEC, CE, UL) and grid codes for high-power applications. Why Apply? •Impact: Build the infrastructure that powers the green energy transition. •Flexibility: Enjoy a primarily remote role (ideally based in Europe) with structured travel to India (approx. 50-60 days/year) for key milestones. •Prestige: Join a confidential, market-leading organization with the resources and ambition to dominate the sector.
